News: FOCUS Wales add another 70+ artists to 2025 bill

FOCUS Wales have added another 72 artists to its already stacked line up for 2025. The new names cross multiple genres and will be travelling from all over the world for the internationally renowned showcase festival taking place around Wrexham city centre from May 8-10th. The festival  has grown to become one of the most respected and looked forward to showcase festivals the UK has to offer.

The new announcement brings with it experience as well as some hotly tipped newcomers.

Formed in a Brighton music college in 2011, The Wytches have been an acclaimed live act with a cult following of fervent fans almost since their inception. Led by front man Kristian Bell, the band create a sound that is wild and unruly, but is never far away from producing songs of real emotional clout. The band fuse elements of surf rock, horror punk and lo-fi garage rock and it makes for a thrilling live spectacle.

The Family Battenberg are a self-produced four-piece garage/psych rock band based in Cardiff, South Wales. Indulging in their DIY ethos, the band delivers their own take on 70s' rock and roll  guitar riffs amidst a blend of driving motorik rhythms and curious lyrical content. Having built a strong reputation for their sweaty and immersive performances, The Family Battenberg has formed a strong following in Cardiff and beyond. They have performed sets at various festivals including Green ManSŵn, and Outer Town amongst others.

Bethan Lloyd will bring her unique, ethereal experience to the festival during the weekend. Her exploration into different sonic realms has seen her train as a classical singer, work with shamans and immersing herself in the creativity of Berlin's experimental music scene. Often improvising whilst performing her compositions, no two Bethan Lloyd sets are ever the same.

Another highly anticipated set will come from Manchester's latest buzzy trio YANNG. The band formed in the aftermath of a rhythmic awareness class at the University of Salford and have seen their star rise through word of mouth around Manchester's vibrant music scene. The band have taken their time, but will release debut E.P No in March. Tipped as ones to watch in 2025 by NME, their set is sure to be one not to miss.

The new additions to the bill means that over 300 acts have been confirmed for 2025, with sets from Sprints, Nova Twins, Gruff Rhys, mclusky, Girl Ray, Das Koolies and many more,  in what will be FOCUS Wales 15th anniversary.
