News: FOCUS Wales announce 100+ new acts for 2025 edition
---------------------------------------------
FOCUS Wales returns to Wrexham City Centre this year with a stacked roster, and that line-up just got a whole lot bigger and better. Over 100 new artists have been added as the bill starts to take shape.
Amongst the long list of new artists added to the bill, notable inclusions are the excellent Half Happy from Cardiff (Read our review of Conversation Killer HERE), the absolutely bonkers and brilliant Monet from Swansea, Red Telephone - also from Cardiff - who release their new album Delay The New Day on Friday. WRKHOUSE arrive as one of BBC Wales Top 5 To Watch with debut EP Out Of The Blue.
From Nottingham come Bloodworm, purveyors of dark and brooding gothic post punk.
As usual, there is a plethora of bands from across the water, inducing new darlings We Hate You Please Die from near Paris, France. It does everything it says on the tin, an excellent take on Television-esque post punk, but with added Gaelic moodiness and a certain je ne sais quoi.
Renowned for being one of the best showcase international music and film festival, the official press release says:
“Supported by the Arts Council of Wales, Welsh Government, and PRS Foundation’s Talent Development Network, FOCUS Wales remains committed to connecting artists with audiences and fostering creative growth. After a successful showcase at ESNS25, where Welsh talent made a strong impact on the European music industry and media, the festival is proud to present a vibrant collection of international artists.”
This year has even more bands and artists from Asia, Australasia and North America with bands from South Korea (HYPNOSIS THERAPY), U.S.A (Diary), Canada (Patche), New Zealand (Jordyn With A Why) and Australia (Stella Bridie).
Once again, this years line-up promises to be the best we’ve ever seen with Sprints, Nova Twins and Gruff Rhys set to top a line-up that also includes mclusky, Panic Shack, Lemfreck, Das Koolies, Kathryn Joseph, Mace the Great, Girl Ray and many more.
Wrexham will be swarming with music lovers from across the U.K and beyond once again.
