News: Penny Lane Weekender returns for 2024 with exciting line-up
It's been a wet, old summer out there in the fields. Some of you will have been to a festival and avoided Trench foot by the merest of margins. Some will have a festival to come and will be obsessively checking weather apps every 4 hours; but one thing is for sure, you're gonna need some waterproofs at some point. Of course, you could just stay nearer to home and go to a much drier affair; at least in terms of weather anyway. I'm sure you're welcome to drink.
Liverpool has an underground festival for new and emerging artists that might make that decision a bit easier for you. Created and curated by Liverpool Post Punks Pleasure Islands, Penny Lane Weekender takes place over the weekend of August 2nd- 4th. The festival is held across three venues located on and around Liverpool's iconic Penny Lane; a name synonymous with Liverpool's musical past. It's the second edition of the festival after 2023 was a rousing success.
The festival has recently announced several exciting new acts to add to their already stacked bill. Sheffield based Acid Klaus is the new electronic project of Adrian Flanagan of the The Moonlandingz and Eccentric Research Council, and is sure to be an unmissable experience. Liverpool garage rockers YOBS will bring a raucous and energetic show and Nottingham's Bored Marsh will bring soaring, anthemic indie rock.
